We are told by those who would believe we are capable or giving ourselves Liberty and Freedom, that we are the ones who will frame a newer, better America through the force of our own will and our own goodness. This is not what the Founders thought. They knew that each one of us could be corrupted by power. "If men were angels," wrote Thomas Jefferson's young friend, James Madison, "no government would be necessary." With proper checks and balances, the Founders were willing to trust the American people more than they trusted kings and lords on earth. That trust is being sorely tried in this age of legislation by litigation. Litigation by those who believe that their brand of law is better than what the Founders told us we already have.

In declaring our own independence, we were doing more than breaking away from Europe. We were breaking away from tyranny. We were breaking away from the idea that some men were fit to govern others without their consent. We broke the chains of dependency and servitude. Those chains of dependency and servitude are being forged again by a Congress who hides their activities from us. By a media who have not the will to tell us when we are being lied to and an electorate who believes only government is capable of “giving” us Freedom and Liberty.

the World War II generation to stand up against Nazi cruelty. It motivated
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to fight against segregation. In one hand, Dr.
King held the Declaration. In the other, he held the Bible. “Let justice roll
on like a river and righteousness like a never failing stream," he said in the
prophetic words of Amos.

We need not separate our dedication to the Declaration of Independence from our devotion to God's Word. The atheists of today would have us believe that there is a conflict between our God and our country. It is not so.
When the President signs the July 4th Proclamation tomorrow, he will conclude with these words: "In the year of our Lord two thousand eight, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-third." These words are a powerful acknowledgment that our liberties, our independence, and our very life as a people are dependent upon the power and might of God the Lord. They are NOT the gift of government.

Marijuana contains impurities, chemicals, besides tetrahydocannibinol (THC). The impurities (crap) are inhaled along with the active THC. This is little different from the crap inhaled when smoking tobacco. The inhaled impurities from marijuana dissolve in the body fat and are stored there. The impurities from a single smoked joint can be detected in the blood even after a week. Upjohn saw this when screening clinical volunteers. The storage of the crap from marijuana is cumulative because it stays in the body fat and accumulates to very large amounts. The impurities are hidden in the fat and not easily detected and that is why marijuana seems to have no ill effects at first. Eventually the amount of crap in fat leaks into the blood and then memory loss, sexual function, liver enzyme levels all change. If THC relieves pain then use the THC and stop poisoning the body with the crap. Marinol, which is THC without the crap is available and should be used instead of smoking weed.
The accumulation of the “crap’ in body fat is slow because there is not much in a single joint. But, after many joints, the crap gets into the body fat, it can take years for the slow process of metabolism and elimination to rid the body of the crap. It is the long term side-effects of marijuana that are a medical hazard and since the federal law requires all approved medications to be both safe and effective the present law will forbid the use of marijuana. The law forbidding use of marijuana is independent of any moral or ethical concerns as voiced by some politicians. Medical experts know the dangers of smoking weed while the ignorant politicians and public need to be educated to the real dangers of smoking marijuana. Smoking tobacco has many of the same dangers but none of the virtues of THC.

When American Capitalists such as Henry Ford, Andrew Carnegie and others founded their businesses, the jobs they created were in the same location as the market that the products of the jobs were meant to be sold. The jobs and wealth created by expansion of business and the wealth of the workers that their jobs created were all located in the same market. That is, the financial opportunities for business were located in the same society as the jobs and the market opportunities. This is why Capitalism creates wealth that did not previously exist, not only for the business owner but also for the workers who make the products to be sold. The location of the market must be in the same society as the workers who produce the products and earn the money to buy the products. When the market is separated from the market-located jobs, the market will eventually disappear. The buyers of products are the makers of markets and without jobs the workers haven’t the money to buy and so the market shrinks and eventually the market might disappear. This decreasing market scenario is happening now with China and the European Common Market. American politicians are not doing enough retain a prosperous society. Instead they are allowing us to sink back into what existed before industrialists created the wealth of American society with jobs.
This situation is exactly what our government is destroying! Our federal government is actively separating business interests in America and the related American jobs from the American consumer market. The jobs are going to foreign countries but the market remains in America [temporarily]. Our politicians do not understand that free markets only work to the benefit of both business owners and workers when the jobs and the market are in the same society. In reality, politicians do understand this but have opted to bow to Global Business instead of bowing to the loyal American industrialists, and the jobs that choose to stay in America.
A market is an extremely valuable resource. Our government is selling the American market to global business interests who have gained appreciable control of American politics. The Bilderberg Group is a case in point.[Go to Google and type in the word Bilderberg and see the response]
The necessiity of making jobs and market be in the same society is what drives politicians to pass laws making tariffs on imported products a necessary condition for access to the country’s market. The purpose is to protect the jobs and thus the market and living standard for the citizens. This is often counter-productive because other societies retaliate by passing tariffs on products made in the politician’s country. This tit-for-tat policy slowly diminishes the size of the valuable markets in both countries. America has refrained from using tariffs to control the loss of jobs but other countries have not reciprocated. China uses regulations and dense, slow, capricious decision paperwork to achieve the same effect as monetary tariffs to control access to the huge Chinese market. Thus China can say we have no tariffs, but the control of imports is still there.
Carl Levin and his refusal to stop illegal immigration, build a wall, keep American jobs for Americans, etc. is actively destroying the American market and the American standard of living. His refusal to support drilling for oil has made Americans unable to travel as they used to. This represents a shrinking of the American market. It is only one example of many. His actions cause corporations to move to low labor cost countries. Levin’s political dependence on Big Labor Unions has resulted in the continuing destruction of American jobs, the American market and the standard of living. The kinds of jobs that are left are not the kind that many loyal Americans are able to fill without specialized education. Keep the electorate uninformed and they can be lead to accept anything.
What do we do if tariffs do not work or if Global Business chooses to move jobs to other low wage countries? What options do we have to keep American jobs inside the American market? There are some things that can be done. Toyota is one example of a corporation that brings the jobs to the market instead of separating worker’s jobs from the market. States that have Right-to-Work laws have received the great majority of jobs such as those provided by Toyota. Michigan and America need a right-to-work law. Require the jobs, the shipping, the transportation and all aspects of foreign business to keep the jobs in America. It won’t be easy, but nothing worth doing is ever easy. NAFTA is the federal government’s effort to separate jobs from the market, all for the benefit of Global Business and deny any benefit to American citizens.
I believe that showing the voters that you understand the dynamics of the loss of jobs and what might be done to correct the problem will gain some votes in November. Government control and taxing will not solve the problems that American business faces. Less paperwork, less government, less bureaucracy, fewer obstacles to jobs are needed. Any Michigan federal senator must have these as requirements for being elected. America has a lot of power over Asia. All we have to do is stop buying anything that is made in China, India or anywhere else in Asia. That is why the Chinese, Japanese and Indian economies have an instant problem when ever America stops buying or even slows down buying products from any of the three countries. We only need the will to do what is needed. We can stop their destruction of American jobs by stopping buying their products. It is our market they want, not our jobs. Canada is a socialist country that history has shown does not work. The Liberals keep changing the name from Communism, to Liberal to Progressive, etc. but they are all the same. The government and bureaucrats think they can make better decisions than the folks who are actually buying and thus forming the market. History has shown since the middle 1800's that government is too stupid to make such broad decisions. The same goes for laws. No law fits all cases and they don't care. More laws means more opportunities to sue, arrest, and stop anything that the bureaucrats don't like.

When Christ said “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s”, it was not only a coin that belonged to Caesar. Caesar and any government have the responsibility to administer the civil affairs of any society. Christ explicitly said that what belongs to government must be rendered to government. The Catholic Church does not have the moral, ethical or expertise to appropriate the responsibility to administer American government. Christ recognized that all things related to secular, ethical government are not the responsibility of the Catholic [Christian or a non-Christian] Church. Centuries past, when the Church did in fact, involve itself in government, the scandals were legion, and the hierarchy was corrupted by money, secular, political power and eventually wisely stopped interference in the responsibilities of government. Cardinal Richelieu is a famous example of church interference in government.
The laws of a nation and their administration are not the responsibility of any church. When the bishops of Los Angeles defied the immigration laws and encouraged illegal immigration by sheltering the illegal,law-breaking immigrants, they were not rendering to government the responsibilities of American government. The bishops were usurping the explicit responsibility of American government and spreading scandal by showing contempt for the law.
Concern for immigrants is a laudable goal that can be achieved without breaking the law or usurping governmental responsibility. The slow step in admitting new, legal, immigrants is the poor efficiency of the Immigration and Naturalization Service in processing the immigration applications of people who want to become Americans. The job of the immigration service is not to admit just anyone!. Their responsibility is to protect the legal, ethical sovereignty and borders of America. The church actions would be better served by doing what they can to ethically expedite immigration applications. It is also not the legal or ethical right of the church to change American society to suit any hierarchical desires.
The very best action that any church can do is to criticize and condemn the famously corrupt Mexican government to change the treatment of Mexican citizens. The real problem is the lack of opportunity in Mexico, not the legally constituted government policies of America.
The Catholic Church learned centuries ago that interference in secular government is not part of their mission. It is unfortunate that the lesson needs to be learned again. The source of the problem resides in Mexico, not in America. Abe Lincoln said, "You cannot make the poor rich by making the rich poor". It is NOT redistribution of wealth that is needed. It is the redistribution of the OPPORTUNITY for indvidual action and individual responsibility. Liberal, tyrannical governments always try to control not only the wealth but also the opportunity for a better life. Liberals have a mental disorder that says, "I and my superior intellect and educaton empower me to control anyone who has less intellect and education". This attitude of Liberals has been the source of failure of scores of governments and organizations in history. The Founding Fathers wrote two documents that are the basis of Amereican society. The Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. The Declaration of Independence gives the moral, ethical basis for American self-government. It also states the fact that the rights of man come from a Creator and NOT from a government. The United States Constitution, although the word "God" does not appear anywhere in the document, gives the recipe, the working methods, that are to be used to fulfill the truths stated in the Declaration of Independence. The Constitution cannot be changed when it disagrees with the Declaration of Independence. Both Church, Morality,and an Ethical Road Map and also Government are needed to fulfill the American Republic. Thus we need BOTH moral,ethical guidelines and e need a government. We CANNOT have one without the other. The effort to remove God and religion from American government is just a foolish attempt to do what the Founding Fathers wisely said cannot be done and still have a nation. Government without moral and ethical guidelines is tyranny and church,religion without government is chaos. We need both and in their proper places with separate responsibilities. Liberals who believe they can do both functions are foolish and will distroy not only America but also themselves. When will they ever learn?
